General Conference Information
Registration fee
The registration fee for the entire weekend, including meals, is $200
per person. The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is underwriting a
substantial portion of the cost in order to make the weekend affordable
for as many alumni as possible.
Special fee for graduate students.
For current Yale graduate students, the registration fee is $20.
Hotels.
We have reserved blocks of rooms at The Colony, 1157 Chapel Street, and
the Courtyard by Marriott at Yale, 30 Whalley Avenue, each within 2 blocks
of Old Campus. You may reserve a room by calling the hotel directly. Please
mention “Yale Medieval Studies Conference” to get the discounted
rate of $94 single/$99 double at The Colony (203-776-1234); or $129, single
or double, at the Courtyard by Marriott (203-777-6221). Parking is $10/day
at both hotels. The rooms will be held for us until March 27.
Air travel.
You may want to consider flying to Hartford (Bradley Airport) or Providence
(T. F. Green). U. S. Airways serves Tweed-New Haven airport
from Philadelphia. New York area options include La Guardia, JFK and Newark
airports.
Connecticut Limousine (www.ctlimo.com; 1-800-472-5466) ground
transportation
serves Hartford, Newark, La Guardia and JFK airports, but not Providence.
Driving time from from Hartford to New Haven is one hour; from Providence
to New Haven
is approximately 2 hours; and from Newark to New Haven can be from 2 to 3+
hours, depending on traffic. There is also an Amtrak train connection between
the Newark Airport and New Haven.
Trains.
Amtrak and Metro North both stop at the New Haven train station.
If you have a book in print, please let us know right away. The Yale Bookstore
at 77 Broadway in New Haven will order books for a display
of work by Yale alumni in Medieval Studies and related fields. Books will
be on exhibit
and for sale for several weeks, beginning April 26. Click

Please write a paragraph about your current work, activities and interests,
whether in academics or another field. Personal notes and reflections are
welcome. We will produce a booklet to be distributed to alumni at the conference,
and mailed to those who cannot attend. The deadline for submissions is
