Dr. Robert Udelsman in San Francisco: What's New and Exciting at Yale Surgery
Date:
Tue, 10/25/2011 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Join us for a social evening of networking with local alumni in the San Francisco area, and hearing an update on what’s new and exciting at the Yale Department of Surgery. Robert Udelsman, MD, MSB, MBA, FACS, FACE  is William H. Carmalt Professor of Surgery and Oncology; Chairman, Department of Surgery, Yale University School of Medicine; and Surgeon-in-Chief, Yale-New Haven Hospital.

The faculty surgeons at Yale are committed to world-class patient care, education and research. Yale Surgery offers state-of-the-art minimally invasive and traditional surgeries ranging from the straight forward and uncomplicated to the most complex, tertiary services, such as organ transplantation. Yale surgeons are trained and experienced in the most up–to–date techniques, offering minimally invasive, endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures as an alternative to more invasive surgeries.

In our evening with us, Dr. Udelsman will provide an overview of the Department of Surgery at the school and hospital, including news of a dramatic expansion of the clinical faculty as well as major research and educational initiatives.  He considers his most important role as that of an educator committed to training tomorrow’s leaders in surgery, and will share his enthusiasm on new initiatives in medicine and medical education.
