Yale Class of 1957 – Charleston 2011

October 2010

Dear Classmates and Friends:

In the recent survey, Charleston was the most popular prospective destination for a spring 2011 mini reunion by a wide margin.  This region has a rich history, dating back to colonial times, and includes Charleston’s emergence as the cradle of secession.  Consequently, we have developed a six-night, five-day program which centers in Charleston, known for its contagious southern charm, and includes a day trip to Beaufort and the Low Country.  This mini reunion is two days longer than Santa Fe and, with the exception of one lunch, includes all meals.  It will start in Charleston on Sunday, March 20th and conclude with a final dinner on Friday, March 25th.

Attendees will be wined, dined, transported, lectured and guided from the moment they arrive until they depart.  A registration fee of $1500 per person includes everything described in the Schedule of Events from Sunday through Friday.  (Hotel costs and travel to and from the mini reunion are not included).

Upon arrival in Charleston, we will gather at the Inn at Middleton Place for Sunday night’s cocktail party and dinner.  (Check in time at the Inn is 4:00PM).  On Monday, after a full day exploring Middleton Place and Drayton Hall, two stellar reminders of Charleston’s plantation past, we will transfer to the Mills House Hotel in downtown Charleston for five nights.  The group will visit Beaufort and the Lowlands on Thursday.
