Chicago - Financial Life After Yale

Chicago - Financial Life After Yale
Mon, 12/01/2014 - 5:30pm - 7:30pm

Building upon last year's successful launch, AYA and the Yale Club of Chicago are once again offering a free, 2-hour evening seminar geared toward “Bulldogs of the Last Decade,” their significant others and friends to discuss the meaning of money.

 Monday, December 1

5:30 - 7:30 PM

The Point Bar

401 N. Milwaukee Avenue | Chicago

If you've ever been curious about any of the below, you won't want to miss this session led by Steve Blum '74, AYA Senior Director for Strategic Initiatives. Steve is a CPA and investment banker, and an enthusiastic Branford '74 alumnus (and Yale parent). A few years ago, Steve returned to Yale to serve as the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives of the AYA (Association of Yale Alumni). In his short time back, he has helped create Student Leadership Forums, organize Yale's first-ever residential college reunions, and co-found STAY (Students and Alumni of Yale). We're thrilled that he's agreed to discuss a special interest of his: financial literacy.

  • What's the best way to budget?
  • How can I learn to save and invest?
  • Are there financial rules of thumb?
  • Can I improve my credit score?
  • What do I need to know about taxes?
  • ETFs, IRAs, HSAs, Roth 401k's, 529s . . . how might they fit into my plans?
