Family Fun Day - A Celebration of AYA Volunteers



You and your family are cordially invited to the inaugural AYA Family Fun Day to celebrate and thank AYA volunteers on September 10 at the scenic Yale Outdoor Education Center.

A day of fun and celebration!

Cookout lunch, clambake dinner, family games, canoeing and swimming in the lake, nature walks, a faculty lecture or two, and of course there will be s’mores and singing around the campfire!

A detailed schedule will be sent to all registrants shortly before the event date. The first formal activity is lunch at 12:30 p.m. but if you would like to arrive earlier, we will be ready to welcome you starting at 10:00 a.m., and you can enjoy the Center's waterfront and nature trail until lunch starts.

All Yale volunteers affiliated with the Yale Alumni Association (AYA)

AYA Board of Governors and Assembly delegates, Yale College Class volunteers, Yale Club boards, SIG leaders, Day of Service organizers, GSAA and professional school boards, and board members from YaleGALE, Yale Alumni Service Corps, and Bulldogs Across America.



  • We are asking for a modest donation to help cover food and logistics ($25/adult, $10/kids ages 6-17, no charge under 6). Use this RSVP form to register, with or without making a donation.
  • Please see the Yale Outdoor Center website for directions and details about their facility (boating, swimming, nature trails, etc.). Even if you know every inch of the Yale campus, you may be surprised by this hidden gem of 1,500 wooded acres on the shore of a mile-long lake.
  • We will provide lunch, dinner, and soft drinks for all. If you would like, you may BYOB, although kegs are not permitted.
  • Accommodations: While the event itself will take place Saturday, you may find it convenient to stay overnight either Friday or Saturday
    • Rustic cabins and campsites are available overnight both nights. If you are interested, please contact Jenny Chavira ASAP for fees and other details.
    • There are several motels and B&Bs in the area as well.
