Yale Women In A Changing World

Post Conference Resources

April 30 & May 1, 2004
Susanna E. Krentz ’80, Chair

The AYA's inaugural spring alumni conference, "In the Company of Scholars: Yale Women in a Changing World," was held on April 30 and May 1 and drew 350 attendees to campus for lectures and small group discussions that examined advances in women's health issues, the role of women in the workplace and in the arts, and ways in which women are empowering themselves around the world. This was the first time in Yale's history that so many women graduates came together for such a conference. Alumnae from Yale College, the Graduate School, and each of the professional schools were represented, including participants from as far as Italy and Germany. The oldest alumna in attendance graduated from the Yale Medical School in 1944 and the youngest participants were members of the Class of 2003.
