The Club's Mission
Serving alumni and current students who live in--or are visiting--central Ohio, the Yale Club of Central Ohio has two primary purposes:Fulfilling this mission, the Club provides the following activities.
- to provide a network for local alumni; and
- to recruit and interview prospective students, as requested by the Yale admissions committee.
Monthly Club Lunch In Columbus
The Club coordinates a monthly lunch open to alumni of all classes, colleges and schools--and current students visiting central Ohio. It is a good way to meet people, stay in touch, and distract yourself from the work-a-day world.
All Yalies are cordially invited to attend at noon on the second Tuesday of every month. Very casual.
Please note: location, dates and time are subject to change. The Club must also reserve the right size table. Please e-mail Artie Isaac or call him at 614-224-6100 by 11 a.m. on the day of the lunch to reserve your spot. Come as you are. A la carte, separate checks.
Recruiting For Yale
Through the activities of its local Alumni Schools Committee, Club members promote Yale at local college fairs and high schools, encourage local students to apply to Yale, and interview prospective applicants (filing reports to the Yale Undergraduate Admissions Department).
If you wish to participate in ASC activities, please contact the Club president, Artie Isaac.
Other Club Activities
The Club also coordinates an annual spring dinner or tea (featuring a lecture by a professor visiting from Yale); an annual summer swim picnic for families of all local alumni and students of Yale, Harvard and Princeton; and other occasional Yale-oriented events.
Programs that serve our community can be designed and implemented by any enterprising, energetic alumnus or student. If you have an idea, please contact the Club president, Artie Isaac.
Some Alumni Actually Pay Dues
We respectfully call them "members."
Although the Club serves all alumni and students, even if they do not pay dues, the Club very much needs and appreciates the annual dues of our members. The annual dues are: $50 for alumni who graduated more than eight years ago; $25 for those who are more recent. (This is not discrimination; it is an incentive for you to go back to Yale for another degree.)
One of the terrific, exclusive, value-packed benefits available only to dues-paying members is receipt of the Yale Sometimes News, an occasional newsletter.
Please send your dues today to the Club treasurer: Brian Trotier, Kensington Advisors, 37 W. Broad St., Suite 415, Columbus, OH 43215. Questions for Brian? 614-228-7899, or e-mail.
