The AYA will create, on request, one-way
listservs to function as email newsletters for Yale Clubs
and Associations. Club presidents may request blast listservs
by contacting Colleen Whelan at the AYA at colleen.whelan@yale.edu or
203.432.1943. Please keep in mind that in addition to providing
timely news and event information, you will be required to
maintain your listservs.
One or two club members may be designated
as "owners" for these listservs. Only those designated as
owners will be able to manage subscriptions (subscribe and
unsubscribe alumni) and post messages.
Yale Clubs may request
a one-time database pull of emails for alumni in their area
to populate these listservs. Click

data pull. Data pulls must be requested in order for
listservs to be created.
The aforementioned designated
owners may subscribe the email addresses obtained from those
pulls, however they must do so under the following conditions:

The
first newsletter sent out after doing a mass subscribe must
include introductory information and information about unsubscribing.

Every
subsequent newsletter must include one sentence informing
alumni how to unsubscribe and an email address to which they
email questions about the newsletter.

Listserv owners must be diligent about
unsubscribing those alumni who request to be unsubscribed.
Unsubscribe requests must be handled on a timely basis.

It is recommended that listserv owners
send out newsletters on an established schedule. Please
do not deluge your membership with daily updates! (As
a guideline, one newsletter per month is standard.)
