Year End Reporting
July 2005
Greetings from New Haven! The heat of summer has
just arrived and campus is buzzing with activity. Summer students
have just arrived and are walking around trying to acclimate themselves
to the campus. Construction continues on Davenport College, and
has just begun on Trumbull College. Silliman College is also receiving
a partial facelift this summer. If you thought parking in New Haven
was a problem before, you aught to see it now!
I'd like to ask you to take a moment to fill out the Club Presidents
Year End Survey in the Club Officers Toolbox.
http://www.aya.yale.edu/clubofficers/yearend/report.htm The information
on this survey is very important to us - it lets us know who our
new volunteers are, what you are doing with your constituencies,
and how we can move forward in a more efficient manner. For those
of you old hands, you'll notice a few new questions (just to keep
you on your toes).
We're all working on plans for next year. Please remember that
it is never too early to let us know that you will be wanting a
speaker for the coming year! http://www.aya.yale.edu/clubofficers/speakers/request.htm.
As we did last year, we will be surveying the faculty about their
availability and travel plans for the coming year, and hope to
be able to provide you with some exciting programming. If you are
looking for ideas of interesting speakers, please look at the Speakers
section in the Toolbox for suggestions http://www.aya.yale.edu/clubofficers/speakers/speakers_topics.htm.
I hope that we will see many of you at Assembly LXV this fall
(November
17-19, 2005, 2004 Yale-Harvard Football Weekend). The topic will
be "Life
After Yale, or The Yale Degree: Now What?" We will be planning
some special sessions for Club Presidents/Officers on the Friday
morning of that weekend.
Stay tuned for further details. If you have specific topics you
would like raised, please let me know.
As many of you are already aware, Jennifer Hill left us in June
to study for an advanced degree that will allow her to teach high
school English. Our new Assistant Director, Diane Morrissey, will
be starting on July 18th, and will assume all of Jen's territories.
Diane comes to us from the Alumni Relations Office at the Yale
School of Medicine. She is familiar with all things Yale, and is
looking forward to being in contact with all of her Club Presidents.
Rhoda and Allison join me in sending best wishes for a relaxing
summer, and we are all looking forward to working with you in the
coming year.
