Assembly LXIV
The New Yale – A Decade of Extraordinary Progress
November 11-13, 2004

Executive Summary

Yale Medal Reception and Dinner

On Friday evening, delegates, guests, and former Yale Medalists gathered in University Commons for a reception and dinner to honor this year's recipients of Yale's highest award for service. Richard Levin and Ed Dennis presented the medals to this year's recipients — Robert Bonds ’71, Mark R. Dollhopf ’77, Christopher A. Forster ’54, the Reverend Richard M. Mapes ’49, ’52 DIV, and David W. Wallace ’48.

Saturday morning

Assembly participants had a choice of attending a morning tour at the Yale Center for British Art or the Yale-Princeton tailgate and football game. A triumphant afternoon on the Yale Field was marred only by the cold temperatures in the Bowl. Fortunately, alumni had a refuge at the AYA indoor tailgate at Cullman Courts where there was plenty of warmth, delicious chowder, coffee, and box lunches. The Yale Band made an enthusiastic appearance, complete with choreography.
