LVII: The Performing Arts at Yale
Thursday, October 26 through Saturday,
October 28, 2000
In
conjunction with the beginning of the Tercentennial celebration,
the Fall 2000 Assembly was devoted to the performing arts at Yale:
music, drama, and dance. Plenary sessions examined the history,
teaching and learning, and the future of the performing arts at
Yale. Delegates toured Yale performance arts sites, sampled performances
in the residential colleges and attended workshops that included
a drama scene rehearsal, a conducting workshop, and a dance choreography
session. Leading figures at the School of Drama and the School of
Music, along with other distinguished Yale faculty and alumni, who
are leaders in the area of the performing arts, guided the exploration
of this vital aspect of every student’s experience of Yale.
